Does anyone know if licensing plays a big part in choosing the snapshots of these sets? Must be difficult.

Not sure it works like that - I think there's a general podcast / radio broadcast license that says he can play what he wants. He certainly doesn't have to pay royalties to use any particular track (primarily as he's not selling the streams and making money from them). However, I think the labels can ask him not to play out their tracks in online sets until a certain date which does the same thing.

Never understood that. Surely you'd want your track to get as much exposure as possible and it's bound to sell more if a popular DJ plays it.
Didn't GU cap all royalty payments to labels at £500 on the basis that the records on their comps will shift serious units because they were on the comps?

He'll usually make sure to talk over big upcoming tracks. And labels DO regularly put info on their promos if radio/ mix play is not allowed before a certain date.

I'm hearing you, LT. As I said, the first hour I liked, but it seems to go downhill more often than not in the second hour. I suspect it might be my attention span.
