Started Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time series. Currently on book 2, The Great Hunt.
All Systems Red by Martha Wells. Sassy apathetic AI. Decent. I wish I would have read the details before plopping $15 for a novella- I think I'll wait for the full The Murderbot Diaries omnibus. Two other novellas are to be released this year, iirc.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline. Entertaining, but not very exciting. The trailer for Speilberg's adaptation looks wicked, though I haven't seen a helluva lot of hype about it.

I really enjoyed Ready Player One. Cracking story.
I had the opportunity to go see the movie yesterday but couldn’t make it due to other commitments. Which was a shame because I’m looking forward to seeing what Spielberg does with it. Pure 80’s pop culture. Hope it lives up to the book.

The only book I read during my break was "Sapiens". The early chapters are great and very easy to read. But it does get a bit preachy and repetitive.

Really enjoys Dead Men’s Trousers, the new Irvine Welsh book. Silly in parts and some ridiculous coincidences, but it doesn’t detract from the book at all - classic Irvine Welsh and a great return to form.

Haven't had the time for Homo Deus, but my missus (loved sapiens) was finding it difficult and had to stop reading it halfway through.

The Drawing Of The Three (The dark Tower #2) - Stephen King
A real page turner and a superb follow up to the first that makes you want to continue reading the whole saga.

Stephen Merchant, Amando Iannucci and Stewart Lee. Was good fun. Sound quality is a bit shit, but other than that, not bad at all. Still prefer Buxton though, who is a little less wacky and more focused.

Will do, for sure.
Quite interested to find some youtube links of his TV show with Lee. They talk about it airing on Sunday morning, catering to ravers on their come down. Worth looking into? Or was it just a bunch of random stuff? Guessing a lot of cultural nuances might go over my head.

Must admit it passed me by also mate, have seen a little of it and thought it was dated and not that good.
Love Stewart Lee's stand-up though.

Yeah, took me a bit to warm up to his stand up, but it is very good and funny. Like that it isn't hectic, it's a great stoner watch.
