Managed to get a couple of hours in at last. Very impressed so far, especially after you get past the initial mountain/snow chapter - the open world is amazing. Gonna have a good few months exploring this.
One thing I'm finding a bit tough at the mo - when walking around in buildings and searching etc it feels a little clunky controls-wise, but I'm sure I'll get used to that very soon

If anything it feels more "controlled" than GTA. It's been excellent so far, the score is lush an all.

I’m tempted to get the new Xbox as a couple of mates are playing it, but dunno if that’s just being stupid. Is the diffeeence between the PS4 Pro and the Xbox particularly noticeable?

Digital foundry are hardcore tech and rendering enthusiasts who will get excited at a difference that no normal gamer would care about. If you care about true HDR vs checkerboard rendering then yeah, maybe, else no, not at all tbh. Certainly not enough to fork about several hundred quid for a new console - I would say the biggest factor is MP and wanting to play with your mates and that the xbox one x is a UHD movie player which really hurts the ps4 pro

Highlights so far:
1. Chasing a midget through bear infested woods at 2 in the morning. 2. Fighting a 7-foot retard in a bar. (An Actual retard) 3. Finding a black house deep in the woods where some demon/crazy man lived. I didn't enter out of fear and will go back another time. The whole area and moment was extremely creepy. 4. Being watched by mountain men from the bushes whilst in my camp in the forest. They're from a gang called the Murfree Brood. Anyone who is a fan of the X-Files will remember an episode called "Home". Same people it seems. 5. Chased by wolves after they had eaten some guy just off the road. Horse got spooked and bucked me off, cue me running like Usain Bolt through the trees into grizzly bear territory. That got a sweat going.
Tip: Don't head out into the woods unless well prepared with ammo and warm clothing and a spare underpants.

I am having to dip my toe into this nonsense as my lad wants an Xbox for Xmas. Is this game too old for a 9 yr old?
They seem to do bundles which are decent VFM but loads of the games are 18.

I'd say it might be a bit much for a 9 year old, BF. Certainly centres around adult themes, mainly.

Is this game too old for a 9 yr old? Yes. The game is rated 18 / Mature for several very good reasons.

The missus is out Friday night, so I've got myself sorted out with a session. Looking forward to her cancelling it at the last minute and making my life a misery.

Rockstar allegedly made 725M in 3 days, the biggest entertainment release in history. Strong work.
