How many more Covid related threads will be started in the coming weeks/months?
Do we need them? How much blood can you get out of a stone? What value do we get out of one subject split into 40 threads?
Is it down to boredom, lack of imagination, or both? One thing for sure, salaries from various professions won't change. You can take that to the bank.

All good points, hugopal. I still think there are efforts that could be made to improve the situation. Rather than just accepting that is the way things are and have to be. Of course there can be improvements, but a lot of the cases I've seen people making are unrealistic and hyperbolic. To give another illustration of the flaws in some of the lines of thought I've seen banded about - even if PL footballers' salaries were somehow cut by half, and all the extra money (discounting taxes) was given to nurses, then that would still only equate to an insubstantial £1k increase in salary. Well its a start, and I dont think the Nurses would be complaining |

Well its a start, and I dont think the Nurses would be complaining Obviously they wouldn't - people don't tend to turn down what they perceive to be free money. It doesn't mean that c.75% tax rates are reasonable though. |

Irrespective of the wages NHS staff earn, which is outside of our control - the general public can make a difference by stopping being fucking dickheads shouting and verbally abusing our emergency services and taking some fucking responsibility for their own general stupidity. I'm sure most emergency services would take everyone treating them with some common decency above a pay rise. They deserve both of course.
