Don't forget I grew up in showbiz BF. Once she found out she could have got backstage tickets for Eternal, she would have been all over me like a rash.
Can'tΒ be that clued up or you would know she used to live right on your doorstep.
Think they must have gone to different evening establishments

Thought Oldman was rather good βTinker Tailor Soldier Spyβ.

Leon is a good, if over-rated film. behave! I said it's good! Gary Oldman does his level best to ruin it.

Annihilation was fucking great. That one scene will probably fuck up my sleep for tonight though. Up there in creepiness with when Lambert buys the farm in Alien.

Enjoyed Leon and thought Oldman was excellent in Darkest Hour.

True Romance is a decent film. Oldman is properly shit in that though. Β As he is in Fifth Element - what a load of fucking tripe that was. Oldman was shit in True Romance? What a fucking ludicrous statement.

I think he plays a shit character pretty poorly. That scene always makes my toes curl.

Thought he was great in Dracula. Tbf, he was up against some wooden actors, but a good shift nonetheless.

Big Fella bang on the money about The Darkest Hour. The entire movie is hammy as fuck and a complete farce. Couldn't believe Oldman won an oscar for it. A terrible prequel to the amazing Dunkirk. 3/10, at best.
The Post is culturally relevant given the times, but it felt rushed, and I found Hanks and Streep extremely cheeseball. 5/10
Loved Phantom Thread, a rom-com like no other, if you will. Daniel Day Lewis was brilliant, as usual. As was the lady who played his sister. 9/10
Enjoyed Three Billboards, got a bit misty eyed when each of those letters were read. Mixed reactions to the ending, but I liked it. Surprised to learn that it's the same director as In Bruges. Definitely worth all the accolades. 8.5/10
Red Sparrow was ok. Gets a bit boring and convoluted, couldn't stand the fake russian accents. 6/10
Death of Stalin - Armando Iannucci doing what he does best. 8.5/10

He seems to do it often and quite poorly. I can change my opinion if that helps?

Nothing against Gary Oldman per se but let us not reinvent him to be Lawrence Olivier please.
Oh he was in True Romance and Leon in 1993 (25 YEARS AGO) and they were decent films, neither were elevated by his performance.
My only caveat is he is supposed to be good in Tinker as Dan mentioned but i wont be rushing to see that.

Even better second time round.
