So... the ground can't cause a fumble, but can cause an incompletion... is that right?

Yes. They are very different circumstances though, don’t you think?
I’ve not seen either of these two contentious plays

people can point to the rules all they want, but the bottom line is that was a fucking catch. if it wasn't than change the god damn rules. ridiculous.

I’ve just seen it. That wasn’t a catch - we’d have beaten the Chiefs if that was a catch.
" A player is considered to be going to the ground if he does not remain upright long enough to demonstrate that he is clearly a runner. If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball until after his initial contact with the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete."
Without that rule, there would be all sorts of bollocks being called a catch.

If it's a catch, they would not have ruled it 'not a catch'.
Anyway all the Steelers had to do was line up to kick a FG to take it to overtime. fucked themselves really.

Each time I get an NFL alert on my phone I hope it's announcing Gruden's firing. It isn't and it doesn't look like it's on the cards.
We fucking stink, injuries, or no injuries.

yeah i'm not sure it's the answer, but del rio and his coordinators had to go (although pagano did a reasonable job the last 5 games) and gruden will at least instill some level of accountability. plus if the rumour is true that gannon will be the qb coach, that'll be good for carr.

the rumour is $10M/year plus some sort of ownership stake. sounds crazy, but it's not my money, so i don't really care. del rio has 3 years left on his extension from last year, so that's all dead money too.

i've heard 12mil thrown around for his current salary, so that offer could do it. as an ex-bird i have respect for big gruden, i just dk if he still has it. i honestly never knew if he had it at all. alway had him down in the lucky category, but that could just be because he delivered the eagles their most upsetting loss in my life time.

he built a championship team in oakland, selling him was al davis's biggest mistake and there are a few to choose from on that list. he won in tampa with a defense that dungy built, but i firmly believe that oakalnd wins that superbowl if they're playing anyone outside of gruden. callahan not changing the verbiage of the offense basically allowed the bucks to know what was being called before the ball was snapped.
