No major political party will make a move to counter the will of the fucking people in their manifestos in a general election. The only hope we’ve got is another referendum really, isn’t it? Not necessarily, although the government is weak I think it'll last it's term... the DUP won't pull out and risk giving a Sinn Fein supporting Corbyn the opportunity to run the show. That means just fewer than five years until the next election - the time during which the "transition" period is due to last. Research heavily suggests that whilst the majority of those aged 50+ supported Brexit, most voters under that age didn't and the percentage of remainers increases the younger you assess. If these trends continue, by the time of the next election the "will of the people" will have shifted significantly considering the fact that they'll be an increased number of younger people able to vote and an increased number of leavers who will be resting in peace. Some estimates assess the swing to be 500k per year. There are obviously more factors than Brexit to consider during a General Election but it leaves an open goal to a centrist Pro-European party in my opinion. Despite current extremes the majority of the population (correctly) doesn't support either the hard left or hard right positions held by the leaderships of the current two major parties.

Can only hope you are right about a centrist pro-EU party.... agree that a lot of people dont feel represented by the nutter brexit fuckwits on the right of the Conservative party or the populist cant add up economic policies of Corbyn. Suspect though that Corbyn is going to lean further to the centre over the next couple of years - that Labour is only level with the Tories in the polls despite the shambles of the latter imo means they will need to do this to win the votes of more suspicious moderate voters.

I completely agree with your thoughts regarding Labour's positioning, but I'll add that there is no way that May will lead the Conservatives into the next election - she's seriously damaged goods and will be kicked out by the party roughly a year before the vote once she's taken the can for the disastrous Brexit negotiations. If the Conservatives replace her with someone pro-EU, young and likeable then Corbyn could be in trouble as he'll be old hat by then. In my opinion, Ruth Davidson is the best candidate to get the nation as united as possible with most of the populous on board but considering how turbulent everything is right now a lot could change over the next few years. We essentially need a British Macron...

Ruth Davidson is possibly the best option as leader in waiting. She has a calm resolve, rarely seems flustered and seems to talk a lot of sense. Its hilarious that Rees-Moog is a bit of a darling to the neanderthal arm on the Brexitters. He probably wouldnt wipe his butlers shoes on them.

My humble opinion is, that Brexit was only a political opportunity for the Brexit partys, to get involved into the mainstream publicity. Yeah, every can fight against the EU bureaucracy, but only when inside. Its a big GDP loss for the islanders, no one really thought about it at Brexiters campaign. Funny how. No offence, but in the UK there are a lot of undereducated bovin people. The level can be seen at the Bedrock Messageboard's recent crowd. Liberal-Socialism is a wind up, you cant be econimically liberal and socialist in the same time. You cannot say im standing on the capital's side, but i also like the working horde. Its a wind up for the bovins.

Ruth Davidson seems a leader in waiting although she has given one or two crappy interviews apparently. Can only be positive that shes from a humble background..question is whether the less liberal in the UK are ready for a lesbian leader... Rees Mogg can go and do one - a right wing, silver spooned Etonian Brexiter

You're welcome Dave, good to be here. How's life over there...done much travelling? I hear Wank King is nice this time of year.
That would be good if the phonemes 'Wank' and 'king' even existed in Mandarin. Alas, they don't. You could have 'Wan Qing' or 'Wang Qing' but that kind of spoils the joke.
