What genre of music would it be? Sounds fucking ace. ...disco edits, boogie, Soulwax weirdness, full-on prog it ain't. System is a work of art though:

Nowhere near as bad as I imagined actually. I could listen to that no problem. Have to be pharmaceutically assisted though.

When the first Despacio was announced I wasn't expecting it to be my cup of tea either, but was intrigued by the premise and soundsystem, plus it was taking place just down the road from me at Hammersmith Town Hall. At the time I was thoroughly disillusioned by house music and generally bereft of inspiration.
I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the most formative night out since Deep Dish at Space (1999). I was a couple of years too young to experience the original summer of love, but I imagine the way I felt was similar to what Oakenfold, Rampling, Campbell, Fung et al experienced hearing Alfredo for the first time - back in the day when you had to step outside house music as there simply weren't enough tunes to fill a night. In the space of 30 minutes you could expect to hear 80s Italo disco, the Rolling Stones, Fun Boy Three, Carl Craig*, Rah Band, Grandmaster Flash, Lone - anything, but it all worked.
*hearing CC's remix of Delia Gonzalez & Gavin Russom's 'Relevee' was one of best 'moments' I've ever experienced in a club.
Also there was no standing facing the DJs (they were almost hidden away) with camera phones; in fact the only things people were taking selfies with were the speakers - they were the stars of the show. Plus an enormous glitterball and a chequerboard dancefloor.
If they roll into your town I strongly suggest you give it a chance.

Ticket prices for that Despacio are a bit of a swizzle, £53 for an event that runs 10:30 until 3am...

The DFA remix of Relevee is an all time fave.

That cc track is excellent in its own right too. The slam edit even better imo .

The phones thing really has fucked clubbing for me the most. Totally destroyed the vibe. It's a crying shame cunts are tollerated doing it. Should have been stamped on early on and never been allowed. Wankers.

Seeing Foals at Ally Pally for my birthday. Looking forward to that one. What a great live band Foals are. Was a fantastic gig.

The Streets here in Perth in few week's LOL
Have no idea why as not only do I not like them I don't even know any songs by them. I just remembered thinking they were shit years ago. Anyhow it's free and a free piss up too. Be rude not to.
