Never heard any anthony parasole sets but is he better than anthony pappa? banging techno berghain resident. he's pretty good. he's a new york dude, and usually gets warm up duties for the big dawgs in brooklyn. curious to see this venue as i've never been before. output has been farming out all of the techno to avant gardener, which fucking sucks; avant gardener has a shit sound system.

Ricardo Villalobos at The EndUp. Not his biggest fan but doesn't come around these parts, well, ever. Figure it's worth a go.

i am by no means a massive villalobos fan, but anyone that doubts his djing abilities is either a) clueless, or lying about having actually seen him play. he can rock a crowd about as well as anyone, and he fucking knows his records.

Yeah I haven't been in ages but it's a great spot. Full of absolute degenerates. Well, it used to be anyway. SF has changed a lot in recent years. Tech has supplanted the hedonism unfortunately.

Or Jan Driver disco filter house? Subliminal? Yomanda "Synths and Strings", even? Timo Maas? Wasn't old enough to attend 21+ clubs then but have great memories of that era of music. The underground scene here was on point back then. I honestly am interested in what a non-local would've played as it all seemed so hyper-localized at the time (DJ Dan, H-Foundation, Garth, Simon, Tony, Jeno, Mark Farina...). It was almost tribal as to how people stuck to their local dudes with a questioning eye to the euro touring types. Sasha and Diggers were a big part of breaking that tribalism down given they played tracks from the likes of labels like Siesta, Greyhound, and Moody before it became the norm or were considered "cool" by the other global superstars. Not to sound corny, but that did matter to us. And is probably why I post here to this day.

Edit*** Aaah Grayhound! I know why now. Dj Garth and alike. .... im afraid that falls under shite for me.
One track from memory was 20 minutes of disco glory a dub of that. Half ok acid track. Thats it.

I remember I played alot of the PVD album 'Seven Ways' when the sun had come up, place was heaving. I honestly can't remember anymore than that. It would have been a lot of stuff from 98 thereabouts, lots of Whoop and Quad Communications too I reckon. Major North 'Annihilate' got a spin too. I bought loads of West Coast prog over that summer too at a shop on upper Haight. We played from 4am to 9am. Left in absolute tatters.
