finally got around to recording and arranging several tracks i've had kicking around. heres the first that i've "mastered". made with a analog rytm, digitone, 909, a sbx-1 to keep the 909 in sync, and ableton. derogatory reviews most welcome. soundcloud.com/zacharymatthews/untitled

Decent that Zack.
Thought it was going to 'progress' a bit more, the tone the kick-drum sets at the start made me think was more of a 'builder'
Apologies, my technical descriptions aren't very articulate!
Not every track has to blow ones tits off though!

i'll give it a better listen later and see if i can come up with some feedback, but i like it. doesn't make me want to pick up a rytm any less. are the leads from the digitone?

both melodies, the baseline, the main drum and one of the hats all came from the digitone. the 909 and rytm just add support.

elektron needs to stop coming up with such great instruments. the random function they just added to the a4 is pure gold.

yeah they are the best around, imo. planning on getting an octatrack mkII in the new year. i love the idea of it processing audio in real time. i've wanted to try a live set up for years now, and i think my 909 routed through an octatrack could be a great way to make it happen.

id recommend looking at the rytm mkII. if i didn't already have the mkI, i would get that over the octatrack. elektron improved the workflow, layout, and the audio sample function. i wish i'd have waited a year and gotten that honestly.

the problem is that they're so bloody expensive. i'd probably have to sell my digitakt and/or ms20m to justify it and i'm not quite prepared to do that yet.
