Can you put - IMPORTANT - FAO PARENTS or similar for these post please Wally? Havenโt you got anything better to be doing? So I wanted to make sure people with kids read the post since keeping your kids alive is quite a high priority for parents, so what? The fact you think a display of empathy and consideration is worth taking the piss out off just shows what a sad wretch you are really.

Lol. 6 million I think. The prime minister of NZ hinted that aussies could come and holiday there during the summer. Or your winter. Not sure which she meant. You could get your caravan holiday after all Dermo. We have already discussed getting camper and either driving up the east coast of Oz with another family or doing NZ properly. From what the pm said there won't be any foreign travel here for yonks. Opening NZ up would be great.

Stopped reading publications like the register years ago. In summary. Something is being developed. Like all things there may be challenges. The challenges might/might not be addressed. Testing will probably uncover said challenges. Boring 'journalism' written with no access inside of the actual project they've chosen to pontificate on.

honest question ... if the flu suddenly appeared right now and we hadn't previously encountered it, what does the death rate look like? would it not be significantly higher than what we're experiencing with covid?
i think that the way forward is going to be antibody testing and letting the vulnerable members of the population self-quarantine. heard immunity is absolutely necessary and i'm guessing we look back in 5 years and wonder what the hell we were thinking with the global approach to this whole thing. maybe i'm wrong, but i think we've gone about this in the wrong way.

Don't flu-like viruses mutate to less deadly forms over relatively short periods of time? The more aggressive strains die off with their victims.

i think that's true of most viruses, ebola is a good example. it's easier to contain because the symptoms are very obvious and kill the host quickly. my understanding of covid, and again correct me if i'm wrong, is that it's less likely to mutate because of it's simple structure, which makes heard immunity a much greater likelihood.

Read an article the other day about how traveling here in the States will be like it was in the 70's - half-full airplanes where only the rich fly; long road-trips in campers; the return of seaside resorts towns.
Maybe Rhyl is due for a comeback!

that doesn't sound terrible. if people genuinely make an effort to simplify life, the world will be better for it.

100% agree. I think people might be waking up to consumerism and how much money they tend to piss up the wall every month. I know I am
