Had a similar conversation with mates the other day about what happens next in our respective locations.
A few predictions I can see once the clubs are allowed to open:
- a return to the residency model for clubs as the day of the touring DJ is going to be limited. - DJ's will be tearing up and down the motorways to maximise their brand reach. - Mega allnighters (single day events) will replace Festivals. - the 90s.
Looking forward to Bedrock on the first Thursday of the month.

The days of cheap international transport are over until a vaccine is sorted / people have the money again to travel. I was travelling to and from New York/London every 7 weeks. Im fucked if thats going to happen without a Naomi Campbell grade hazmat suit.
There are a ton of lessons learn't out of this fiasco. Commuting into an office and the implications on the environment/peoples health/budget being one. In my industry i've always encouraged my teams to WFH as often as possible, adopting tools to get that done much earlier than other groups. I was called out a few years ago for it, with one big wig saying WFH was for "pregnant women and puffs" - classy.
Being in the office for 90% of the time is pretty pointless for a lot of professions. If you want to social aspect, meet your friends. Going out after work nowadays with colleagues isnt really what it used to be with the expectations of work and the commute everyone tends to have. Plus the money saved......wow!
Call me an old tosser, but without crazy commutes the world slows down a bit and people have more time to spend with family/friends/go for a run/cycle...whatever floats your boat. And a happy workforce is a happy company. Not to mention less cars on the road, a better environment etc.
I really hope this a take away from this

Read an article the other day about how traveling here in the States will be like it was in the 70's - half-full airplanes where only the rich fly; long road-trips in campers; the return of seaside resorts towns.
Maybe Rhyl is due for a comeback! Whats the story here Jon? I'm not sure Rhyl is on most yanks radar? My mother is from North Wales. We went to poor old Rhyl a few times, but it made her sad as she had fond memories of the place growing up. A nice seaside escape and all that. Really fallen on hard times.

Maybe Rhyl is due for a comeback! Also, America's lack of a decent rail network is a shocker. Although the trains they do have are boss. The east coast isn't bad. Well, the north east. The west coast is terrible. Shame we didn't get developed a few decades earlier. Post-WWII the infrastructure was heavy on freeways and other car-centric means of transportation, which I think was a mistake. Even the trains we have, Amtrak, doesn't have rail priority; freight does. So a trip you might think will take X hours, will really take XX. It's a shame. And it appears that ship has sailed for any expansion.

That's because it's full to the brim of relocated / rehoused scousers. In the early 70s it was quite pleasant. Even the sun centre was ok. Then it all went tits up with dipper filth.

We have already discussed getting camper and either driving up the east coast of Oz with another family or doing NZ properly. From what the pm said there won't be any foreign travel here for yonks. Opening NZ up would be great. Read an article the other day about how traveling here in the States will be like it was in the 70's - half-full airplanes where only the rich fly; long road-trips in campers; the return of seaside resorts towns.
Maybe Rhyl is due for a comeback! Hopefully my Mrs will reconsider returning home as if there's 2 countries worth being locked in with nowhere else to go nz and Australia have to be up there. Hopefully it will be cheap as chips too coz as of recent it's got fucking daft for Airbnb etc. The Winnebago style motor homes which is the only way to do it with a family in comfort are like a flights to fucking Europe and the rest. Proper tear off.

She grew up in a good household, but very poor; as many did after the War. Rhyl was a treat back then, she said. Rock candy, et cetera. Nostalgia doesn't really work when one sees the state of it now. I'm sure that could be said for many seaside towns, 'though you all would know that better than I.

Lyft, Uber, all of them (sans Google and fucking godforesaken Facebook, may they die a swift death one day). I could see Winnebago-style trips exploding here and in Oz. There's just no other way to get around. And plenty of open road. Europe? Yeesh. The traffic. Hard pass.

Started chester then onto Rhyl , Abergele, That way. My old man wanted to see it as he used to ride there weekends in the 50s. He hadn't seen Rhyl since 70s and me 86. It's an absolute fucking dive. Really really grim. Windows boarded up, everywhere closed. Like somewhere time had forgotten but in a really bad way not a nostalgic way. Scrotes in trackies and footy tops everywhere picking fag ends off the floor etc. Was fucking awful. Had some good memories as a child on those beaches.

Christ, I can't even imagine what it's like these days. It's been years for me. And Rhyl is just a shame. It's a beautiful area. Llandudno and Chester like you mentioned. Ruthin. Betws-y-coed and Snowdonia. I even like Conwy even if the castle smells fucking terrible.
That said, Rhyl or no Rhyl, I'll take North Wales over the South seven days a week and twice on Sundays. The South is full of complete degenerates. Cardiff belongs in like Florida. Bunch of drunk, poorly dressed troglodytes with an inferiority complex. Actually, if that's my description maybe it's actually Philadelphia. We should ask Zackster.

Haha the whole of Wales is pretty backward. The south like you say just spend all their time hating England. North Wales in the whole is mint. Apart from the aforementioned scouse destruction areas.
