i'm no tequila expert, but i've always found don julio anejo to be good for sipping. It's a bit of a mine field as companies like Don Julio churn out loads of different ones. In general they are ok but had a couple of rotters over time and felt like crying on first taste. Saying that the best Tequila I've ever had was one but that was about $500 and not mine.

It's the inky spirit that makes me want to throw up, obviously I've just been drinking the shit stuff from bars.
I'll have to check some of these out!

One thing that really stuck out with the Don Julio 70, just had three-four shots, the buzz was fun and it came quick, and once it wore off, there was absolutely no lethargy.
A few hours after a beer and I’m ready to call it a day.

that's because tequila is a stimulant and it's relatively low carb. beer is pretty much a guaranteed crash.
when i was strict keto, i could drink vodka soda for hours and never crash because of the lack of sugar, was great for the occasional marathon.

Whiskey can be a bit draining too... don't know how people can drink it during the day.
Should give vodka a bit more attention, but I barely drink anyways. Though I am regretting not picking up the 4 bottle duty free quota on my way back from Thailand last month!
