I thought of pm'ing but then thought maybe a few others might be interested. Anyway this comes from my friend who's a tequila freak. He currently has about 120 odd bottles. He doesn't think twice about spending 200 quid on one. Tbh I've tried these expensive ones and think it's a bit emperor's clothes. The ones around 30 to 50 quid are good enough. So the website to use in the UK is called Masters of Malt. These are his picks Rooster Rojo Anejo Olmeca Altos San Matius Gran Reserva Anejo Then he went on to say Anything from any of these next lot are great budget Tequila particularly the first 3. Also Damo I bought an 1800 Anejo today as Dan Murphy's has put it in members special today at $70! Also bought a hand made vodka called Cape Grim 666 ! Thought it was quite fitting for the current mess.

Nice one.
Can't say I've ever tasted a decent tequila. I'm interested to give one a try though, I'll probably have a crack at few of the recomended budget ones.
Edit: I'll just dive straight in for the top notch one. £37 seems very reasonable for a quality product.

Well it's kind of considered a bit of a crime to ruin a decent tequila. They call it sipping tequila. The only one that is really tolerated is a Paloma. Look it up San Pellegrino Grapefruit and lime. Or there's a Geordie grapefruit tonic that's also very good with it. Fletcher's is it?

Or there's the matador which is pineapple and lime.

Thanks, I'll check them out.
I'll give it a try straight and with a couple of mixers and see how it goes

Tbf straight takes some working up to but that's how all the serious heads drink it. I'm a bit neat a bit Fletcher's tonic.

...thanks for the info mate, that’s great.
Might have to treat myself to a bottle of the 1800... deffo sipping tackle, and it’s far too tasty to mix.
A mate swears by pomegranate as a mixer, never tried it meself...

No nor me. Never even heard of it. Do try that Fletcher's from up your way though it's readily available here too.

Dad busted out a bottle of Don Julio 70 a couple days back. Smoothest tequila I’ve ever had. Even better with orange peels and this chilli powder mix called ‘Tajin’ instead of salt. Generally we have Jose Cuervo for margaritas and patron for shots.
