once he didn't have to worry about beat matching and related skills Anyone have any insight into how widely the sync button is used by pro DJs?

I was wondering if any other big names do. not necessarily using a sync button, but beat matching the digital way is so much easier than keeping two or three records synced over several minutes. if you're using the sync button and know your tracks, you shouldn't even need headphones to mix.
with nick warren specifically, his mixes just sound way cleaner than during the days of vinyl. listen to his first gu that was mixed on 1200s and you can hear it pretty clearly.

Always thought Nick Warren would mix in and out from the intros and outros of tunes. Never any clever layering, that Sasha and especially Diggers are masters of.

I was wondering if any other big names do. Big name DJs just pressing a non existent sync button on a deck and just cueing tracks up? Anyone doing this would've been outed long ago so I'd say with some degree of certainty, absolutely not. There's prob Techno DJs syncing FX etc but in the context you're speaking of with mixing records/MP3s. Zero. Sync is a feature in software iirc, standard decks have the BPM counter etc. So the idea of a DJ just pressing Sync is a tired old cliche that doesn't exist on the big name circuit. Unless anyone has any evidence and can post so the flaming can begin?

I've watched him with Hernan a few times recently, he's using a USB plugged into the deck and he's mixing was fine. Could easily be just matching the BPM counter available, who knows. Or cares.

When I'm ledging it on the d-floor I couldn't a flying fuck about the mixing.
I'm there thinking "when's Tyrantanic getting dropped?"

Or cares. i don't really care, just mentioned that i think he benefited from technology and it made him a better dj. nothing wrong with it.
