Has quietened a few of his critics on here.

I was running everyday while going through my divorce and it really helped... but yeah eventually had to pull back (And my pal who runs everyday does so to keep stress at bay). It definitely becomes an addiction and, like any drug, the hit becomes less pleasurable over time.

I would be interested to know how often Chunky gets injured, what his diet is, what rehab/strengthening he does and what trainers he generally uses?
Asking for a mate π

There wouldn't be many if any who would say that kind of effort is sustainable. Fair play though. That's some fucking job.

I would be interested to know how often Chunky gets injured, what his diet is, what rehab/strengthening he does and what trainers he generally uses? Asking for a mate π I had a few injuries when I first started, but, I was doping myself up with pain killers. The only time I have been injured was June last year, bizarrely I bowed my leg falling asleep at may dining room table drunk. This prevented me from running properly for a month. I learn't quite early that if I focus on getting better times, that's when I'm prone to injury, so I would rather that the distance took 10 minutes longer, than getting a better time and not being able to run for a few days. I use Saucauny Ride trainers, only because they were the ones that I was given when doing a gait test in the shop. I tried ASICS once, but, I experienced some pain, so I went back to Saucauny. My trainers only last between 600 to 1200 miles. I use them until they wear through, otherwise I would be buying a pair of trainers each month. Mine's not the most conventional way of doing it, but my motivation is not being a fat bastard in my 50's, so I just want to burn the calories.

Fair play, you must have to throw some calories down your neck each day to keep your energy up! Do you eat/drink much on your run?

Unless I doing more than 15 miles I don't eat or drink anything while running. I've learn't that if I go passed that and I haven't drunk I can get into trouble. Running to work is a pain, at work, I'm constantly eating, sweets, chocolate etc which isn't great. Since the furlough, I've lost over 10Ibs, mainly because we don't keep that sort of food in the house, but, I don't feel hungry at home, like I do at work.

I love eating while doing ultra races but tend to train dry. I'm currently up to 26 miles on nothing, mainly because I can't be arsed taking my back pack! Yeah I know the feeling, I generally eat very healthily but like most people, I can't pass up a cheeky snack if I see one as it would barely touch the sides.
