The Ritual above average horror - kind of like a european Predator with shade of supernatural shenanigans. read the book before I even knew the film was even being made. pretty forgettable but most horror films are nowadays
Coco Pixar animation based in Mexico and played between the real world and the land of the dead. extremely high quality animation and an absolute joy

Cloverfield Paradox - 6/10 watchable, but it's not great and the ending was terrible.

Darkest Hour. Thought Oldman was magnificent as Churchill. Shoe in for best actor.

Tad the Lost Explorer and the Secret of King Midas.
Bit of an Indiana Jones tip for the little people. Low quality Euro animated stodge for the big people. but the little one enjoyed it and the Cinema was nice and cosy.
3/10

Watched four films on the way back.
The Cook, The Thief, The Wife and Her Lover. Never saw this when it was released in 1989. It was really, really shit - it was like a really badly over-acted play. Massively self-indulgent load of old tripe - it gets incredible reviews, but I think it gives art-house and independent film a bad name. 1/10
Brawl in Cell Block 99. Dunno what Millsy’s on about - it’s barely watchable. He’s right about the last ten or fifteen minutes - brutal, but doesn’t really make up for the dreadful storyline. 3/10
From Dawn til Dusk. Saw this at the cinema when it was released, but was quite pissed at the time, so thought I’d re-watch it - there were huge chunks I couldn’t remember and it was like watching it for the first time. Great film, bit silly at the end. 7/10
David Brent: Life on the Road. Watched this as it was short and I wanted to get my head down afterwards. All quite regrettable - the awkwardness of The Office is there, but it’s been over-done and lost it’s appeal. 3/10
Thankfully, I’ve got some better films lined up for my next trip.

From Dusk till Dawn is ace.
Just came home from Shape of Water. 4,5/5. Felt like the movie was out of time. Or from another era, at least.

Get out. Weird horror type show. Not the hairy chest to be honest. It's getting a lowly 4 out of 10.

Mollys Game - Decent enough (true) story but not very well delivered - Sorkin is obviously heavy on the dialogue where this needed a bit more emphasis on the action. Jessica Chastain is great though and I couldn't work out why she was doing an irritating voice until I heard the real Molly speak (Chastain nails her voice superbly). 6/10

Slamming Cell Block then straight into Dusk Till Dawn being a classic. Absolute shambles. Kermode agrees. Creds in shreds.
