Been hammering this over the last week - it's a good 'un. Dan was good enough to send a copy and I haven't stopped playing it. Incredible comp. Yep. Good man Dan!

I find it tricky listening to people talking about The Weatherall. Millsy posted a link in the music forum and I only just listened to it today and it was amazing. It was about music that influenced him and his last track was This Is The Day - not a dry eye in the house.

I am sad to say I left it too late to check him out when I actually knew what I was looking for in a DJ. I was a student in Liverpool from 98-01 and he was playing everywhere in Liverpool then so I must have seen him a few times back then.
I had never been to ALFOS but had always thought I'd get around to it. Irrespective of this, I could defo feel the emotion in that set that Sean Johnston did on the week he died. Der Alte defo struck a chord.
Was painting my son's bedroom at the time I was listening to it and really remember being so annoyed with myself for not diversifying my nights out in recent years to check ALFOS out. I guess that's what happens when you only get out 2/3 times a year these days.

Tru dat, Dutch. I saw him a lot, mainly at ALFOS and / or festivals - Carcassonne a few years ago was so good, but either way, everything he did was brilliant. I’ll repost Millsy’s link in a sec - it’s a great listen.

Really sad. I saw him a few times in Belfast and have to say that I found his DJ sets a bit ' over my head '. No disrespect to him or anyone else. Still. He made some fantastic music. RIP.
