Years ago I went to see Primal Scream and Andy Weatherall was warming up... bloody hell - his music was better than the main act... highlight of the set was this, which was indicative of how eclectic his music was...

Was at Fabric for the night that was apparently the inspiration behind his mix CD for them. Proper smashed it to smithereens. Excellent tunage. Better mixing. Bananas night. Absolute blast. Saw him in Oakland at a behemoth warehouse around ‘97; his first ever set in the States. Again, smashed it. Highlight of the night - no small feat given Slam and Funk D’Void live were also on the bill. The Fabric night and the Oakland night couldn’t have featured different styles of music, but borderline flawless both times. His versatility and commitment to being just one step forward was incredible. Really gutted by this.

Listening to my sister bang out Loaded and My Bloody Valentine / Soon as a kid got me into Acid House. Early 90s anything with his name on was a guaranteed purchase . Sad sad loss, but his contributions to our scene will stand the test of time

Good mix this - worth checking out. I feel fortunate, actually no grateful, that I was there. We were lucky enough that Pablo Contraband obviously knew the Guvnor well and dragged him down to Brighton at last once a year - dont think I'd missed one in the past 5 years and will miss those nights hugely But ultimately I'm just very sad - possibly a bit weird as I didn't know him, but just shows how much of an impact certain people make on you

Sad news indeed.
First caught him warming up for Hawtin. Last caught him at the London Jazz Cafe a couple of years ago in typical eclectic style.

...“I went from listening to United by Throbbing Gristle to dancing in a field to Josephine by Chris Rea,” he recalled of 1988’s Second Summer of Love, “which gives you some idea what a powerful drug ecstasy is.” Hahahah

Anyone catch him in Carcassonne? Went once a few years ago - fucking brilliant. Yeah I have, it was 2016 when I went. Had a mint weekend. He was a sound bloke, I've met him on a few occasions as he was a very good friend of my pal Craig. RIP indeed...

Was pretty much single-handedly responsible for turning me from indie guitar music and tuning me into house.
All the classic crossover remixes of The Mondays, Primal Scream, One Dove etc have already been posted. All more than just tunes but a lifestyle and soundtrack.
Will be eternally grateful.
Was lucky enough to see him DJ a couple of times in Manchester, most memorably when he had a free reign at Miles & Elliots Robodisco. Bossed it and took everyone with him.
