The state of public transportation over here is a horror show. Proper dystopian, NYC subway in 70's feel. There's nobody on it except psychotic pests who wander from car to car muttering to themselves, homeless people using BART as a mobile homeless shelter, general weirdos, and those of us just trying to get to work. The Bill being nowhere to be found. I'm 6'5 and can take care of myself but if I was a woman, I'd be terrified. That 15 minutes is the worst part of the day. Full stop.
The streets of San Francisco aren't much better. The issues SF has with homelessness, mental illness, drug use, and general vagrancy are well documented. But you strip away all the normies from every day civic life, and, whew, it is something else. Is it sad? Yeah, sure. It's also fucking irritating. A civic disgrace is certainly what it is.
