I'll take the d-note comment with a pinch of salt too. Being as every major DJ at the time was absolutely battering it I'm not really concerned if you think it's meh or not.

Speaking of grandmas, Iโve had windmills of your mind by Noel Harrison on repeat. Proper tuneage.
Discovered on The Trip To Spain.

I think most people agree that original prog as we know it died 2000 and limped along to 2002 but was only really prog by numbers during those last 2 years. Pretty much, though there were still a rare few "classics" late 2002/early 2003. I'd say these are pretty much its swan songs:

Iโve heard a ton of stuff that would be classified as prog in the last 10 years, that I find is far smarter and less obvious than the stuff that was coming out in the late 90s. Also mostly everything thatโs been released recently has been brought down from 130+ to about 120-125bpm. Anything thatโs 130+ I think, fuck this trance shit.

I'd say Stoppage Time was probably the last big Bedrock release (2004), though it's not especially proggy.

Funny you say Stoppage Time, the last time I busted out all my old vinyl, it was one of very few tunes I found listenable and that would work even today at the right moment.
A lot of the other stuff, you blatantly have to be on some great bangers to enjoy. And Iโm not even sure it would work if I was tripping.

There's still plenty of brilliant music out there - Bedrock's had it's day, I'm not arguing about that. We're too old to know what's considered a classic these days. Some had an attempt at identifying some supposed "modern classics" a couple of years ago: link
I wouldn't personally agree with any of anyone else's picks in that thread though (except the Floorplan track).

This thread now teetering on the edge of "Post your favourite prog track circa 2001".
Quattro easily the best Bedrock release for me since the one with the yellow sleeve 10 years ago. Lots of good tracks on there, especially the Satoshi Fumi one, I bet it sounds ace in a dark room.

I'm onto the Tempo mix at the moment and really enjoying it. I wasn't that impressed with the soundscape mix.

Had the pleasure of hearing diggers drop Stars and Shines, not sure how it was received on the bedrock forum, but it almost had me in tears that night, in a good way! Great example of a tune of thatโs quality prog post 2001.
Think Ruede Hagelsteins Counting Comets remix is up there too.

Good shout on Counting Comets. That was a proper wtf-moment the first time I heard it. 2017 BPM Mexico-set I think.
