This is about the genre of music within dance music. Prog whatever you want to call it.

That is possibly to do with how disposable music has become. Back in the day you had to work to find new/good music so you would invest more time in listening to it. Capiche? Have to agree with this - I can download pretty much any album I like on Apple Music - I don't get round to listening to half of it, there's too much.

Ok let's put it like this , in ten years time will diggers be dropping anything off this Quattro album? Will he bollox. Will he be delving into MM1 and his transitions cd as well as his Halcyon day prog classics? Yes he fucking will.
Why? It's not as good. Noone will care about it. It's irrelevant. They'll never be classics.

There's still plenty of brilliant music out there - Bedrock's had it's day, I'm not arguing about that. We're too old to know what's considered a classic these days.

You posted that D*Note tune the other day and i though Meh. Capiche?

The most important thing to remember though is that there'll always be some cunt who thinks he's the authority on what's relevant in music, a subjective past time.
Which in itself, is daft beyond belief.
I've listened to Weatherall's Masterpiece at least 10 times in the car, I've had it for less than a month. LNOE 50 the same. Digweed's Warehouse Project Essential Mix circa 2007 about 40 times and a variety of obscure mixes from not well known artists from the mix section on here.
Hope that helps. Whatever tickles your fancy ffs. And age is a huge factor. You grew out of it, it doesn't mean what you think it does. Kids are still having their 1992 moments. If you're constantly comparing everything to the mid 90s then of course everything is going to sound different, that's not a huge revelation.

Or maybe the music just isn't anywhere near as good? You'd have to be there from early on to appreciate that though. I don't blame new kids on the block saying it's ace and the old stuff was shite. I'm fine with that. All the DJs refer to back then as the golden years. There's a reason for that. Hmmm. Not really, some of the music has to be good, just going by the sheer volume of releases.

I was coming up when you think prog shit the bed, first started buying records in 2001. Lol. Same here. But I was mostly about tech-house, than I was prog. Prog at that time was more of a guilty pleasure that bordered on trance.

Bf will all due respect I haven't forgotten you saying on Gu you didn't profess to know anything about dance music and the only reason you were on Gu was for the crack. Also you said your heritage was coaville listening to Tall Paul . This is a discussion for people who were about back in the day comparing a genre of music. Also not applicable to people like the Pikey who was still a spunk bubble in a Catholic priests scrotum.

Its basically, I was round the scene from 1991 to 2001 and it now its all shit and has been since back then. Everything you listen to is shit. Far too general and completely wide of the mark. I saw what it was like in 1993 first hand, there's no way all of it is shit right now, different yes, but you'll find something you like amongst all the noise if you have a genuine interest in doing so.
