Please bear in mind it is pretty comic-booky, ie if you are looking for realism like Dermo in Ozark, look elsewhere. As i said it is bat-shit crazy but a great ride/watch Plus it only runs for about 4 series so doesnt go on forever.

...Gangs of London deffo has its enjoyable aspects, well directed, outrageous background cast, great editing, fight sequences are mental, but anyone else think that the lead character Sean, (Peaky Blinders kid) is the weakest thing about it? Kinda feels like the whole thing is built around him and he just feels woefully miscast and the least capable actor by miles... and WTF is that public schoolboy accent about? His da was a mick traveller gangster FFS!? Yep, totally agree with what you said about the lead character. On the whole i thought it was OK, mainly due to the well put together action bits. I watched the episode where they attack that farm house stoned, it was intense as fuck.

Take away all the action scenes in Gangs of London it's only a 5/10 max.

It's like Damo has said already. The main character was the weakest character in it. It would have been so much better if they had less violence and a better storyline. I'll watch it again to see if I've missed anything.
I watched the fist episode of Defending Jacob last night. It does look quite good but we'll see where it goes

Anyone read any Sally Rooney? Surely the most overrated author ever? Have read Normal People and thought it was excellent. Personally thought not a lot happened ... same for Conversations with Friends... wouldnβt call them bad books at all but hardly the classics they are made out to be imo

Just watched the third episode of Gangs of London. The closing scene in particular is so hammy and inexplicably stupid that its highlighted how unwatchable it actually is. After persevering with it this far im going to have to give up the ghost.
The show is absolute tripe.

I have managed to get to episode 5 of gangs of london, only on the basis that I have nothing else to watch. There are so many gaps in the story line and acting is awful. even the fights scenes look shit and seem really slow. bit of a john wick vibe where the gang will only attack one by one

Watched the Louis Theroux episode with Tiger King Joe Exotic in it... worth going back and watching imo... probably the worst bit is all the Chimpanzees being couped up (not by Joe Exotic) and clearly going completely nuts because of it.

Two episodes into gangs of london and have a feeling that's it done and dusted for me. To fuck up with a cast like that isn't easy but it looks like they have managed it.
