i'm waiting as well. i'm not convinced the price is worth upgrading and, like you said, best to let them work the bugs out first. i've read a few people are having issues with cpu usage spikes.

I'm sure there are. I'm still on V 8 ffs. I'll get 10 once I buy a new laptop.

i'm waiting as well. i'm not convinced the price is worth upgrading and, like you said, best to let them work the bugs out first. i've read a few people are having issues with cpu usage spikes. Well, couldn't quite wait and went ahead with the install anyway. Checked the Ableton site first and you can run both 9 and 10 on the same machine so can revert back to 9 if I need to. Looks a lot nicer, with some lovely fonts that would make your PowerPoint sides at work look tops and would have you touching yourself under the table. The new Wavetable sync is superb. One of the things I always thought Ableton lacked was really experimental synths, like those from NI (Rounds, Form and Absynth spring to mind). Wavetable seems really easy to manipulate between the two oscillators. Echo is the new big audio effect which seems quite powerful. My CPU seemed to be OK, although Wavetable + the Echo effect on their own pushed it to about 20% so not sure what will happen once I link in Maschine and have a series of synths working (that's on a relatively new iMac). When I checked my account there's about 20Gb of new packs available so looking forward getting stuck into these. Tenterhook as usual on all of this.

Will do. Although that depends on finishing something before I hate it which results it ending up getting binned. No doubt we’ve all got tracks lacking a few donks on them and stopping them from being greater things.
Oh another cool feature is Capture. Basically runs in the background recording to the cache. If you stumbled on a few good key strokes you hit the Capture button and it plays back what you were pissing around with. Very useful IMO.

haha i'm a bit familiar with that. i try to work as fast as i can now for exactly that reason. not sure the final product is any better for it, i'm just less tired of listening to it by then.
that's interesting. i kind of just do that now by recording lengthy jams before doing the arrangement, but it would be nice to have it done automatically.

Still working in 9 with the 32 bit version that works with all the old VSTs. Need to check out 10.

Looks good. I'm still primarily VST based though and don't do outboard gear much.

Thinking of getting one of these MPXs to start adding samples into my live sets without the need for a laptop. m.youtube.com/watch?v=E0Mc8TzubUgI want to load a bunch of BPM/tempo matched loops into the pads but what program is best to use for these purposes? Ideally I just want something I can drag audio into, chop around then add a few other items and get it all tempo matched, then export to an SD card/load up the sampler and off I go I have a lite version of Ableton but tbh I could never figure out the fucking thing. #simpleton Any recomendations ?
