...VU meters are OK for master output, v poor for matching channel levels IMO. Lots of Urei/Bozak users use external metering, something like this:

Any recommendations for budget monitors ? Moving back to UK on Thursday and getting a temporary studio solution until my stuff gets shipped over. I donβt really want to spend anything more than 200 quid on a pair. Was looking at the Pioneer DM40s or the previous generation KRKs.

...new Bozure concept desktop rotary mixer. Not too many details but they have a solid rep based on their isolators:

Awwww, only highs and lows.... I know that with mixers of this quality it's not an issue, but still.

My corner of our living room in our new house starting to take shape. Left room for when and if I want to buy another Technics-deck at some point, or borrow one for house parties (I'm planning on hosting a NYE-thing a tradition). Still have to figure out a good way to hide the wires. Also still lots of other things to do around the house, this will do for now. The small outward facing speakers are only when the only audience is the missus, and our cats. I have a bigger pair I can carry down from the upstairs storage when needed. They just take too much space to kept downstairs all the time. All that shit in front of the window will go, except for the cat tree. I like that they enjoy hanging out with me when I'm playing tunes.

Still rocking the CDJ400s I see. Have a mate that swears by them. They work with Traktor and have USB slots so why shell out wedge to get something that basically does the same thing.
