They are all questionable. Problem is if you rely on it and two tracks dont play the game youre very quickly in the shit.

I had this on while doing a few jobs around the house this afternoon. Enjoyed it, some excellent tunes. Raw Main - Valkyrja (Gorje Hewek & Izhevski Touch) being the stand out for me.
Grant, How are you finding the XDJ-RX2? I'm looking to upgrade to something along those lines, from my DDJ RX.

I really like it - I don’t really need more than two channels, even though I think I should, I just don’t. I’ve never owned proper CDJs, so don’t know the difference in that - others do. I like the fact you can DJ how you want, use the screen, use sync, or just go unassisted, which I find so much more satisfying.
Cheers for listening

I don't think i'm good enough, or can justify the expense of going for CDJ's. I'm keen to ditch the laptop though, so that kit you are using seems like it would be ideal.

I’ve not been able to use it much til recently and am loving pissing around with it. I’d be worried about a Pioneer upgrade, but I don’t suppose it matters that much, I’m sticking with what I’ve got for the long haul.

Worried about upgrading because of the rumours they were going out of business?

Worried for you buying a new one - I wouldn’t worry about Pioneer going down, the kit will last without firmware upgrades for quite some time.

Ah right...I'll do my research when the time comes, see what's going to be the best option.

how often do Pioneer upgrade their shit? ...they've massively focused on the all-in-one controllers for a couple of years now. The CDJ's have been overdue an update for a while. It looks like the Nexus line has ended, pretty sure there'll be some new decks to go alongside that new V10 mixer next.

You know what grant It's not made it completely unlistenable and you're aware of what needs addressing anyway. It's just more time needs taking in your headphones. That's it. Oh and accurate headphones if you haven't already. Some top tunes in there anyway mate and I liked the mix on the whole. The mistakes didn't really detract from it. Nhar tune is a big fav so that went down well, hadn't heard that in ages. Keep up the practice mate, If I gave any tips at all it would be start recording all your sets with the intention of posting them even if you don't, keeps you disciplined. In the old vinyl days that helped me a lot. On C90s of course!

Nice one Dermo, cheers for the feedback - good idea about recording all mixes. What do you mean about spending more time with the headphones?

I’ve got some HDJ 2000ks - are they good enough, you think. I bought them quite a long time ago

I imagine they'd be fine just looking at them. I mean it's in the pre mix you're losing it or not getting the mix tight enough. Unless you are and it's drifting but I can't imagine kit of that spec drifting that far by the time you've queued it. If it isn't the latter then you just need to spend more time queuing pre mix. Lots of panning in and out of the mix in the headphones helps.
