No digital inputs, but suppose being a 9* itβs all about the analogue. Wondering if getting a mixer with digital inputs line the DB2 really makes a difference to sound if you use the CDJ coax outs rather than RCAs. I read somewhere the purest path if you Dj with digital files either via usb or Traktor is digital all the way, rather than having digital to analogue converters

...TPI Sound Type 14 mixer, full discrete, looks like all modular too, options to change layout around, swap-out faders for knobs, ISO for crossfader or 4x HPF's. Their systems are top notch, this thing will sound fantastic:

Anyone any thoughts on the XDJ1000 mk2 vs the CDJ 900nxs? I have the orig CDJ900s but the old skool screen is doing my head in now my brain has given up recognizing text vs nice high def record labels . As the xdj is newer Iβve heard the processor and screen is much better , but the CDJ build quality and feel is more pro standard

Go for the XDJ IMO.

...I have the XDJ1000mk2's, they are nice but not without their flaws.
As with any of the Pioneer gear its about how much post-sales support they get. Every time there is a firmware update things are improved, but they are so keen to get new kit out that some models are neglected and issues still aren't sorted months later. I'm only recently back in the Pioneer ecosystem after years on Traktor and to be honest I'd kinda forgotten about this aspect of their behaviour... the arrogant fuckers on the Pioneer DJ forum are absolutely zero help too, locking threads on ongoing issues because they don't have answers to problems with kit that costs $$$'s and isn't working as it should.
Insane cost aside, I imagine 2000NXS2's might be a decent long-term investment as they will at least be prioritised for updates/fixes.
Regarding the 900's... had a long chat with a shop owner about them when I was looking at the XDJ's... he says Pioneer have never had a good track record with the CDJ's just below the flagship models and that they have not sold that well compared to the XDJ700's/1000's. Based on that alone I'd be inclined to go for the XDJ's as the support will be better IMO.

I'm still getting good life out of my 11 years old CDJ400:s. π
Granted I use them with a laptop for obvious reasons (mp3 only with USB), but they're still fine controllers for Rekordbox DJ.

...4x channel valve compression will sound fantastic, along the lines of the A&H V6. Confess to being disappointed that they've dropped the high-pass filter altogether in favour of EQ's though. New versions of the Radius 2/4 have had circuit redesigns and some cosmetic refinements as well... The Radius 4 at Β£1600 is the best value mixer on the market at the moment IMO. mastersounds.co.uk
