I find the Trakror software pretty rubbish, I try to update from that controller thingy and it’s doesnt work. Have gotten around it but am hesitant to uninstall and start again as I have thousands of tunes put into folders. So am not looking forward to version 3. Where’s Strudders when you need him? |

...I'm not sure I get this, surely if you disable the internal mixer by switching to external mode this happens anyway? |

I like using Traktor for prepping mixes, seeing what tracks flow into each other, arrangement and setting loop points etc. then doing the final mix live and recording it . The effects are pretty wank on it but agree it’s pretty solid and doesn’t crash in my experience . Plus I use it for the odd small party with my laptop and X1 Z1.
That’s the only time I use it as it does make you lazy when DJing live. I went back to rekordbox and my Cdj 900s just to test myself s bit and not have my head in a laptop .
Horses for courses I suppose . Interesting to see what real improvements they have made with version 3

...I'm not sure I get this, surely if you disable the internal mixer by switching to external mode this happens anyway? It's still the Traktor compressed sound. You can tell by not having to use the gains at all. It makes a high quality mixer or soundcard a bit redundant. By my understanding now you can send the track to the soundcard AS IT IS. |

Is Traktor generally accepted as superior to Serato? Serato rules the open format-market, Dave Clarke is about the only DJ using it in the techno circles. Rekordbox DJ as a laptop-software seems to be also aimed at the open format, or bedroom DJs. Or dad DJs like we have here. When used with CDJs with SD-cards/ USB-sticks it's the industry standard.
