I tested my mate's pair of XDJ 700s and fell in love with them. Why ? And another genuine question... What makes this kind if setup better than a big standard DJ controller / laptop? |

Last night I heard the Behringer Truth speakers for the first time. Couldn't actually believe my ears. A fraction of the price of my Rokits and not really that much difference. Absolute bargain for the money if you dont mind buying complete rip off merchant gear. Looked like Genlecs.
*edit - sorry they arent a fraction of the price i was looking at price per speaker not a pair.

Ive got Rokit 8's. I think it would be hard to tell the difference. maybe high end they sound a bit harsher. A bit fragmented at times with some tracks.
TBH mate the 8's are overkill imo. I should have gone for 5's or 6's.

I recall us talking about this on Bedrock. I got the 6s and even they are overkill imo. Can't get them anyway near even half volume at home. Reckon the 5s are more than adequate for home use. I was going to get the 8s as well. Glad I didn't

Yeh big is defo not better. I had mine in a much bigger space at first and when i went to a smaller room i paid the price.

Change the locks when he's gone, Grant. That way you don't lose the room when he tries to return. If he's big enough to go travelling for 2 years, he's big enough to fend for himself.
